In plain English

What Caltury actually is.

If you haven't read the AML/CTF Act and aren't sure what this product solves, here's the four-paragraph version.

01The change

A new Australian law starts on 1 July 2026.

It's called AML/CTF Tranche 2. Roughly 107,000 small Australian businesses — real estate agents, conveyancers, lawyers, accountants — fall under it for the first time. AUSTRAC is the regulator. Civil penalties run to A$22.2m per breach.

02What it asks of you

Identify customers, screen for risk, file reports, keep records.

On every client, you need to verify who they are, check them against sanctions and politically-exposed-person lists, document the risk, and lodge reports to AUSTRAC if anything looks suspicious. You keep the records for seven years.

03What Caltury does

It runs all of that as software you actually use day-to-day.

We're not a lawyer or a consultant or a policy document. We're the platform that drives the daily workflow: customer onboarding with one-click ID verification, automatic sanctions screening, guided report drafting in AUSTRAC's required format, dated training certificates for your staff, and a tamper-evident 7-year audit trail.

04Why now

Set up in May, walk into 1 July ready.

Practices that wait until June will be scrambling. From A$99/month with a 14-day free trial, no credit card needed. Australian-built, Sydney-hosted, run by a one-person team that answers every email personally.

AUSTRAC enrolment

Five-step wizard generates your enrolment package — designated services, compliance officer, beneficial owners. You lodge with AUSTRAC Online; we record the reference and start your annual-review clock.

  • Vertical-specific designated services catalogue
  • Beneficial-owner capture (25%+ rule)
  • Step-by-step lodgement guide

  • Auto-substitution of practice details into 20+ sections
  • Print-ready document layout

Customer KYC & sanctions

Add a customer in 60 seconds. Send a verification link backed by Stripe Identity (document + selfie + AU DVS). On success, we screen the customer against DFAT, UN, OFAC, EU and PEP lists automatically. Elevated matches surface for review.

  • Stripe Identity for document + biometric verification
  • OpenSanctions screening of every list that matters
  • Reviewer queue with false-positive / true-match decisions

SMR drafting

Walk a structured intake, get an AUSTRAC-format SMR narrative drafted in seconds, edit freely, finalise and lodge. Tipping-off prohibition built into the UX. Lodgement reference recorded.

  • Guided three-section narrative (description, reasons, steps)
  • Edit any section before finalising
  • Audit trail of every change

The 10 obligations

What every reporting entity must do

Caltury handles each of these end-to-end. You stay the reporting entity; we're the toolkit that keeps your house in order.

01

Enrol with AUSTRAC

Submit your enrolment within 28 days of providing designated services.

02

Conduct an ML/TF risk assessment

A documented assessment of money laundering and terrorism financing risk in your business.

03

Maintain an AML/CTF Program

Part A: general program. Part B: customer ID procedures. Approved by the Board / governing body.

04

Run customer due diligence (KYC)

Verify the identity of every customer before providing designated services.

05

Screen for sanctions and PEPs

Check customers against UN, OFAC, DFAT and EU sanctions and PEP lists.

06

Detect and report Suspicious Matters (SMRs)

Within 3 business days. 24 hours if terrorism financing is suspected.

07

Report Threshold Transactions (TTRs)

Cash transactions A$10,000 or more — within 10 business days.

08

Keep records for 7 years

Customer records, transaction records, training records, AML/CTF Program versions.

09

Train your staff

All staff exposed to designated services must complete AML/CTF training and have it documented.

10

Annual independent review

Your AML/CTF Program reviewed annually by an independent party.

Security & data residency

Lawyer-grade trust,
built on Australian rails.

Lawyers, accountants, and real estate principals don't put client data on platforms they can't trust. Caltury is built to be the one they can.

Australian data residency

All data stored in Sydney (AWS ap-southeast-2). Application servers pinned to AWS Sydney via Vercel Pro. Compliance with the Privacy Act and our customers' professional regulators.

Encryption everywhere

TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest. ID documents stream to Stripe Identity and are never stored on Caltury infrastructure.

Row-level tenant isolation

Postgres RLS scopes every record to your practice. No other Caltury customer can see your data — enforced at the database, not at the application.

Immutable audit log

Every action — create, read, update — captured against the user who took it. Required for AUSTRAC inquiries, AHPRA reviews, and your own annual independent review.

Sub-processor transparency

Full list at /sub-processors. Stripe, OpenSanctions, Anthropic, Resend — each disclosed with what data they receive and where they're located.

Built to the APPs

APP 1–13 compliant from day one. Published privacy policy, breach notification process, sub-processor list, customer access and correction rights.

Founding 10 program

Be one of the first ten practices,
get four things no one else will.

Caltury is new. The Tranche 2 regime is new. We're looking for ten Australian practices to set up alongside us in the weeks before 1 July 2026 — agencies and firms who want a direct relationship with the people building the platform, not a ticket number in a Zendesk queue.

01

Lifetime price lock

Whatever tier you choose at signup, that's your monthly price for as long as you stay a Caltury customer. If we raise prices for everyone else later — and we will — your bill doesn't change.

02

Founder Slack access

Direct line to me. Bug reports, feature requests, AUSTRAC questions you can't get a straight answer to anywhere else. Reply window: same day, every day, until we hit 50 customers.

03

Onboarded by me personally

Book a 30-minute screen-share. I sit with you while you set up your practice — risk assessment, AML/CTF Program, your first three customer files. Your AUSTRAC enrolment package is signed off before we end the call.

04

Roadmap vote

Founding 10 customers each get one veto on a feature priority. If you tell me “don’t build that, build this instead”, I do.

Spots remaining: 10 of 10
Every founding customer gets a public mention on this page (with your permission) once we've closed the program. Until then, this section will keep telling visitors you got here first.

Questions

Answered up front

Are you AUSTRAC-approved or certified?

No — AUSTRAC does not certify, approve or endorse software vendors. Caltury is a compliance technology provider, built to AUSTRAC's published guidance. You remain the reporting entity and are responsible for your own compliance.

Do you file reports to AUSTRAC on my behalf?

No. Caltury helps you prepare your enrolment, your reports and your records. You always lodge with AUSTRAC directly, through AUSTRAC Online. That's both a legal and a best-practice line.

Where is my data hosted?

Australia. All customer data and uploaded documents are stored in Sydney (Supabase + Vercel AU regions). Identity verification flows through Stripe Identity; we document this clearly in our privacy policy.

Do I need a lawyer or compliance consultant as well?

Caltury is software, not advice. For your initial program review, your independent annual review, and any genuinely complex matter, you should engage a compliance professional or lawyer. We help you get the basics right — and stay right.

What happens after the 14-day trial?

You can keep using your enrolment package and risk assessment even if you don't continue. Live CDD, SMR drafting and records vault require an active subscription. Cancel any time.

Does Caltury write my SMRs for me?

Caltury takes the facts you capture and structures them into AUSTRAC's required three-section narrative. You review every line and edit before finalising. Your Compliance Officer is the legal author of every SMR — we just save them an hour of drafting and make sure the format is correct.

1 July 2026 is closer than you think.

The penalty for getting AML/CTF wrong is not a slap on the wrist. Start your free trial today; have your enrolment package and risk assessment in hand by the end of the week.

No credit card. Set up your practice in 7 minutes.
